Despite being on a bit of a time crunch, we were able to make the most of our short stay in Vancouver. Among its many charming qualities, Vancouver is extremely bike-friendly and we took full advantage of that fact. After an early morning breakfast and coffee overlooking the ocean in Vancouver’s Kitsilano neighborhood, we headed out on a bike tour of the city. The bike path stretches along the city’s entire coastline and traffic lanes within the city are converted into bike lanes for early morning commuters. We rode downtown to get a map and then headed to Stanley park to enjoy the park’s 5.5 mile seawall path. Our list for the day also included Chinatown (one of the world’s largest), the historic neighborhood of Gastown, the shops of Robson Street (not our favorite) and finally the Granville Island market. Throw in a couple beers and some dim sum for lunch and overall a great day in Vancouver.
